This March, [words] Bookstore exhibited books transformed into works for art, created by Millburn Middle School student artists.

Until the pages are turned, a book is an object to be read.  With a few simple folds the book can be transformed into a work of art.  Pages that once delighted and informed readers are now finding themselves in the hands of creative artists and are being recycled into remarkable and unique forms of sculpture.  By crisply folding page in various patterns, a once beloved book can be re-invented into a treasured art form.  Local students are honored to have their book sculptures featured in the front window of [words] Bookstore.  – Claudia Sohr (MMS Art Teacher) and Deborah Kaplan (Executive Art Director for Penguin Young Readers Design Group)
